Line 2 is a new iPhone application which gives your a second line. It can have its own contact list and voicemail. The company the formed this application is Toktumi. According to NY Times article 'iPhone App to Sidestep AT&T' “Your second line can be an 800 number, if you wish, or you can transfer an existing number.”

This application is extremely useful for businesses because on the companies site it offers things to make your business appear bigger then it is. It offers things such as call screening. But the biggest thing about this application is that it can make and receive phone calls either through AT&T or through the internet. If you are in a wireless area it connects to the Wi-Fi and makes your phone calls. And the best part it is that when it connects to Wi-Fi it doesn't use up your AT&T minutes.

Apple stores and AT&T are now selling the iPhone without a two-year AT&T contract.

Although you don't have to rush into a commitment, the iPhone prices did increase. Don't get to excited, Apple is making it so a person can only buy one phone a day; so no lucrative career.

The non-contract option doesn't mean you can use another carrier. (Sorry Verizon holders). You still have to use AT&T 3G service.

However, this isn't the first time that AT&T has offered this option. Around the same time last year, they had the same promotion.

Some are spectating that Apple will becoming out with a new iPhone model. The goal of this move is to help clear out inventory.

AT&T threatened: Unlocking the iPhone3G

A current issue that many consumers are faced with when contemplating buying the iPhone 3G over, say, a Blackberry, is that the only available network is AT&T.
Buyers with longtime commitments to their Verizon or T-Mobile plans for instance are hesitant to switch over just because they want the iPhone.

Despite AT&T’s efforts to keep their customers and gain more through their monopoly over the iPhone, people have discovered that the 3G can be unlocked in the same way as the original iPhone.

There are companies online, even instructional videos that offer software and teach people how to unlock their iPhone, and use their preferred carrier with it and go along with your desired fees and charges. People can also get applications for free that they would otherwise have to pay to download.

Not only can someone learn from a site, but also pre-unlocked iPhones are also available through websites like Amazon and EBay.

These methods of changing the phone carriers is complete forgery, but is a fast growing and popular way for people to get what they want without switching carriers.
Unfortunately for AT&T, soon it just might make more sense for them to split the rights with another popular carrier… or maybe they can soak up the ownership for a little bit longer. Either way, people feel the need to cheat the system and will probably win this battle.

A month before the release of the iPad, accessories like cases and other gadgets are already in the work.

Many third-party manufactures are able to thrive based on accessories. An ecosystem of new hardware is created around the iPad. According to Piper Jaffray & Co. an estimate $3.7 billion was totaled worldwide on iPhone and iPod accessories only.

Griffin Technology began drawing up designs for cases within hours of the iPad announcement.

Some companies, however, aren't jumping on the bandwagon. They are waiting to have an actually iPad on hand to test their accessories. Jamie Pichora, founder of GelaSkins plans to "have as much as we can get done ahead of time." After getting an iPad they will have products available "in a day."

Blue Microphones Inc. is waiting to release their recording device for now. Johnathan vonRentzell a sales representative says, "If you're making it for a product, you want to make sure there's a market."
