Apple Builds Search Engine for iPhone
Author: iBlog iPhone // Category:Apple is concern that Goggle might use data they can collect from iPhone holders to tailor software for their smart phone. Creating their own search engine will protect Apple from Google collecting data from its App Store.
Apple has had issues with Goggle before. Nexus Ones maker, HTC, was sued by Apple for patent infringement.
Although Apple lacks experience to build a search engine, they ca buy a startup one or, as rumors state, use Bing from Microsoft.
Gene Munster, Piper Jaffray analyst, says there is a 70% chance that Apple will have a new search engine within 5 years.
"The data generated on the iPhone OS platform must become an increasing priority for Apple and we believe the company has the resources to develop its own products in both maps and search in the next five years," Munster said.
